Acceleration of Agribusiness Enterprises as strategy for regional development
To be more precise the role that young African trained in the agricultural sciences can play and how to best tap into this skill pool, maximizing and providing mentorship on the different facets of the agricultural and natural sciences and leveraging the potential of these young people to contributing to the building of resilient futures.
Fertigation is a fertilizer application method, in which dissolved fertilizers are delivered to the crop through the irrigation system.
This technology provides the opportunity to apply precise rates of water and fertilizers to the crop, and therefore, if designed correctly, it can be an important precision agriculture technology.
In this conference I will discuss:
- What is fertigation?
- What are the existing fertigation methods and technologies?
- What does precision require?
- Precision ag and fertigation
- Current challenges and outlook for the future
Talk about the importance of technology early in the value chain on the path to sustainable agriculture
The practice of our Analog forestry concept will become a key component of transitioning organic farming, as well as mitigating climate change effects while providing effective sustainable solutions to organic agriculture.
Conservation tillage and conservation agriculture are two interlinked things, that help us to maintain soil biodiversity and to minimize soil erosion which is the biggest problem faced by the farmers of arid and semi-arid regions of different countries. Conservation tillage is the basis of conservation agriculture and agriculture sustainability cannot be achieved without conservation agriculture.
Making real impact with nature based solutions - a holistic multistakeholder approach by Soili & More Impacts
Practise case, achievements and learnings from the point of view of a project developer:
Regenerating soils and improving farmer income with organic sericulture and carbon insetting/greenhouse gas reduction model with family farmers communities in a long-term impact project in China.
Bonsucro is the leading global sustainability platform and standard for sugarcane, one of the world's most important crops. Our purpose is to collectively accelerate the sustainable production and use of sugarcane.
We convene over 280 members from more than 50 countries to address critical challenges in the sugarcane sector and drive both performance and impact through our system of sustainability standards. We work across all sugarcane products and derivates such as sugar, ethanol, molasses, and bagasse in traditional and newer market sectors, from sugar and alcohol to biofuels and bioplastics.
In the recent decades agricultural systems have been increasingly confronted with a growing number of challenges. Changing climate, depleting natural resources, frequent disasters, migrations and related phenomena have a visible impact on the state of play. To tackle these challenges, numerous efforts have been undertaken by a variety of organizations and stakeholders. These include investments into new solutions, oriented on sustainability transitions in agriculture. How effective are these? What are their impacts? This talk will provide an overview of the current and emerging approaches to evaluation of sustainability transitions in agriculture. The examples will be backed with the experience of the speaker from selected projects and countries.
We will discuss the use of IoT in the Agriculture & Food sectors.
guest speaker Toriola adeola ajibade, Federal Research & Extension Animal Scientist and Agric Banking Expert, will be speaking on The Sustainable Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Summit”, his session’s topic will be ”ADVOCACY, SOCIAL MOBILISATION, AND COMMUNICATION ON SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE THROUGH INNOVATIVE PLATFORMS IN LIVESTOCK VALUE CHAIN”.
To be more precise how livestock development is fundamental to the sustainability of Agriculture from a food security perspective.
Ariel will describe and discuss Ordway Selection's approach to investing in Food & Agriculture with a focus on "additionality"
Implementing a program of Climate-smart Agriculture to mitigate environmental damage due to traditional methods of agriculture, adapt to changing environmental conditions and embracing new innovations, and improving agricultural production and food and water security, particularly in the Global South, is more urgent than ever before. However, in order to optimize the probability of attaining good outcomes, one must take into consideration the myriad constraints and barriers that must be identified, navigated and negotiated for every project.
During this LogyTalk I will discuss and unpack the majority of constraints and barriers we encounter in the Global South and describe ways in which they should be analyzed and navigated. Some of these constraints include corruption, gender inequity, access to inputs, access to finance and credit, infrastrucutre, governance, and land tenure. I appreciate the opportunity to present my work and thank the LogyTalk luminaries who make all of this possible
John is an executive produceer of the Netflix blockbuster film Kiss the Ground. He will share how restoring nature and soil health is key to addressing the many issues we face today from extreme weather, poor nutrition, biodiversity collapse, and food security. Nature is resilient and it’s time to help restore and regenerate our earth.
Leveraging Technology to Promote Transparent Agriculture Commodity Trading will be the conference's main topic. Commodity trading's current challenges and future opportunities.Looking forward to GMT 6:30PM
We know we have a biodiversity crisis, we know we have a climate crisis, and we know the two are linked. Ecosystems can draw down carbon from the atmosphere and buffer us from the worst effects of climate change — but only if we protect them. Regenerative agriculture is an opportunity to increase our yields, boost our health as well as provide for nature.
Decarbonized green energy and transportion infrastructure for communities. On site renewables, waste to energy and hydrogen for on site power for buildings and transportation.
I will explain the various controlled environment agriculture technologies and their differences as well as other common terms used in the industry.
